    Description

Outstanding and extremely rare authentic Blue and White Color Diagram Full Size Working Drawing (No. 3) of 18 Inch Marionette Puppet by H.W. Whanslaw for the London Marionette Theatre located in The Mews Ravenscourt Gardens, London, England.  We are guessing circa 1930's.  Measures 15 x 21".  Back is blank.  This is awesome with all of the numerous parts and pieces laid out for creating a marionette.  If there is a museum for Marionettes this belongs in it.  Can't find much info on the Theatre but Whanslaw was one of the puppet pioneers in England early 20th century.  The British Puppet and Model Theatre Guild in the early 20th century instigated a resurgence of puppetry.  Two of the Guild's founders, H. W. Whanslaw and Waldo Lanchester, both worked to promote and develop puppetry with publications of books and literature, mainly focusing on the art of the marionette.
Condition of paper is good there is wear along edges including creasing and some foxing upper right and creases from being folded for many years.  This would look amazing framed.  Zoom in on pics as part of description.  This is a must have item for any collector in the puppetry world!  This will ship folded fast and FREE signature required.  Contact us any questions we try our best and please follow our store if you seek rare and unique.
