    Description

This is an original envelope and letter dated May 9th, 1872.  It has a green George Washington 3 Cent stamp.  It was written to Miss Emma E. Grant in care of Daniel Grant, Moultenboro, New Hampshire from James Fennell, Lake Village, New Hampshire.  The envelope is 4 & 5/8" by 3 & 3/4 and was torn open at the right end.  Both the letter and envelope are otherwise in good legible condition.  The spelling is atrocious!
